Connecting to HR schema from SQL Developer in Oracle 12c database

Before Connecting to HR schema from SQL Developer in Oracle 12c database, you need to unlock the HR schema in Oracle 12c database.

So after unlocking the HR schema in Oracle 12c.

Follow below steps to connect HR schema from SQL developer.

Step 1: Open SQL Developer and click on + button to create new connection.

 

Step 2: Provide Connection Name, username and password details.

Connection name you can give whatever you want.

Username will be hr and passwords will the password of hr schema, which you assigned during the unlocking of HR schema.

Step 3: Now give the details of the Oracle:

Connection Type: Basic

Role: default

Hostname: localhost

Port: 1522 (as in my case, for you check port number in “tnsnames.ora” file)

Service name: pdborcl (as in Oracle 12c, HR schema will resides inside pluggable database. So give service name of pluggable database, this also you can check in “tnsnames.ora” file.

Step 4: After providing all these details click on test the connection.

Check whether status is pass or fail.

If status is success then save and connect.
